We are happy to be completing the final phases of the Living Farm Heritage Museum Blacksmith Shop. The structure was completed in 2014 as the north end of one of our large sheds. We plan to complete the interior (forges, anvils, work benches, etc ) early summer of 2015.
Over the past years we have conducted countless numbers of blacksmith demonstrations throughout the region at festivals, outdoor schools and at the Living Farm Heritage Museum. The practice of "Smithing" is a vanishing skill as well as art. Fortunately, there are some among us who have taken up the call to carry on this activity and we here at the Living Farm Heritage Museum are happy to have some of those individuals in our membership ranks. If you are interested or know of someone interested in learning the Blacksmith trade we invite you to join our club.
